CELEBRATING RUBY ♡

Today was a very special day for Ruby.  Today was her graduation from St Andrews Preschool!

Ruby and her family have been part of our centre community since Ruby was three years old.   Now it is time for her to go to primary school.

At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.

We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.1

The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey.  We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool.  They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.

Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.

Ruby, we have loved getting to know you.

BELC HeartSome things that we love about you are your kind a loving spirit. Ruby, on several occasions you have helped and offered help to others whether they were hurt, sad or lonely. You have also helped new children settle into preschool by showing them where to find things. We appreciate your gentle and friendly nature.

BELC HeartWe’ve noticed that you enjoy being creative whether it is with paint at the easel or glue at the art table and carpentry areas. You also value your family and you often make gifts or cards to give to them. You also enjoy stories, both listening to them and reading them yourself and you seemed very proud when you shared the Fancy Nancy story at mat time.

BELC HeartRuby, you are very interested in creating, stories and artwork but you also enjoy the swings and developing your skills on the monkey bars. Ruby, you also have a knack for puzzles! You have the ability to concentrate and be focused, which are skills needed for solving puzzles and children search you out for help with the tricky puzzles.

BELC HeartThe character virtues we have seen you develop are helpfulness with assisting your friends, generosity in sharing your time and ideas with others, confidence in communicating your ideas and thoughts and courage and bravery in knowing that you have a place at preschool.

BELC HeartRuby, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that your kind and gentle spirit will continue to be a shining light at your school and in the community. We pray that you will develop friendships that will last a lifetime and that many will be blessed because of your thoughtfulness and loving heart. We will miss you dear Ruby! Jesus is with you my friend.

May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.

Ruby, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!

We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
