CELEBRATING STEPHEN ♡

Today was a very special day for Stephen.  Today was his graduation from St Andrews Preschool!

Stephen and his family have been part of our centre community since Stephen was three years old.   Now it is time for him to go to primary school.

At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.

We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.1

The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey.  We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool.  They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.

Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.

Stephen, we have loved getting to know you.

BELC HeartSome things that we love about you are your caring and kind heart. You take the initiative to help others when you can see they need help and you show compassion. We love your ability to problem solve and work through the challenges that you set for yourself and we love how you share your ideas.

BELC HeartWe’ve noticed that you enjoy exploring nature and reading about nature. You love finding insects and studying them. You love fish and ocean creatures and you enjoying gardening. You also enjoy the friendship, creating in the carpentry area, and swinging as high as you can on the swings.

BELC HeartStephen, you are very interested in fishing! Your pretend play usually involves fishing, whether you are making fishing poles in the carpentry area or pretending the climbing boxes are a wharf or boat. You are interested in rugby and you have been practicing your kicking, catching and passing.

BELC Heart

The character virtues we have seen you develop are kindness towards others, helpfulness when children and teachers need help, courage to share your creativity, confidence in communicating, determination in problem solving, understanding of others feelings and cooperation.

BELC HeartStephen this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: Stephen, we pray that your school journey will be full of friendships that will extend on your creative talents. We pray that your friends will be inspired by your caring and considerate nature. We pray that you will be filled with joy as your learn. Jesus is with you my friend! We will miss you Stephen.

May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.

Stephen, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!

We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
