CELEBRATING SYDNEY ♡

Today was a very special day for Sydney.  Today was her graduation from St Andrews Preschool!

Sydney and her family have been part of our centre community since Sydney was four years old.   Now it is time for her to go to primary school.

At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.

We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.1

The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey.  We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool.  They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.

Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.

Sydney, we have loved getting to know you.

BELC HeartSome things that we love about you are that you are very confident, both socially in making friends and physically in sport. You have made many friends very quickly Sydney and often children search you out to play with them. You are also willing to help and give a hand and you are considerate of others.

BELC HeartWe’ve noticed that you enjoy playing outdoors whether its pretend play or sports, you seem to spend much of your time outside with your friends. You have really enjoyed the Gyminis and Rugby Tots programs where you could practice balance, coordination and agility. You also enjoy bringing in your toys from home to share for news time.

BELC HeartSydney, you are very interested in pretend play, usually pretending to be mums and dads or doctors with your friends. You are interested in most sports and athletics, and you proudly show off your skills of climbing, jumping, balancing and twirling. You are also interested in drawing and painting, especially when your friends are joining with you.

BELC HeartThe character virtues we have seen you develop are flexibility when it comes to your friends’ changing ideas for play, understanding of others emotions and feelings, patience in waiting for your turn, and joyfulness in discovering your developing abilities.

BELC HeartSydney, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that you will continue to grow in confidence in sharing your ideas. We pray that your talents will expand beyond your expectations and that you will use your talents to bless others. We will miss you Sydney! Jesus is with you my friend.

May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.

Sydney, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!

We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
