CELEBRATING TANE ♡

Today was a very special day for Tane.  Today was his graduation from St Andrews Preschool!

Tane and his family have been part of our centre community since Tane was three years old.   Now it is time for him to go to primary school.

At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.

We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.1

The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey.  We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool.  They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.

Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.

Tane, we have loved getting to know you.

BELC HeartSome things that we love about you are your kind and gentle nature. You care about people Tane and you often look out for your friends. We love how you have demonstrated your knowledge of how preschool operates and how you have helped others when they weren’t quite sure what to do.  You also enjoy talking about your family and all of the fun that you have away from preschool.

BELC HeartWe’ve noticed that you enjoy sharing your knowledge about the world with teachers and children, especially your knowledge of vehicles. At mat times and in your play, you often add information to conversations.  Your friendships are important to you and you value the time you have with your friends, usually playing outside in the sandpit or on the climbing boxes.

BELC HeartTane, you are very interested in drawing and painting.  You enjoy pretend play with your friends and you can often be on an imaginary adventure. You are interested in stories and you enjoy learning new information at mat times.  You are also very interested in the well-being of others and you like to be a part of finding solutions to problems.

BELC HeartThe character virtues we have seen you develop are  confidence in communicating your feelings and ideas, creativity in your work and with problem solving, courage in participating in group activities, compassion for others, and friendliness.

BELC HeartTane, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school:  Tane, we pray that your school journey will be full of opportunities for you to learn and grow. We pray that you will find friends who will build you up and bring out the best in you. We pray that you will have joy and continue to delight in discovery. Jesus is with you Tane!

May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.

Tane, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!

We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
