CELEBRATING CJ ♡

Today was a very special day for CJ.  Today was his graduation from St Andrews Preschool!

CJ and his family have been part of our centre community since CJ was four years old.   Now it is time for him to go to primary school.

At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.

We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.1

The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey.  We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool.  They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.

Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.

CJ, we have loved getting to know you.

BELC HeartSome things that we love about you are your craftsmanship when it comes to block building. Time after time CJ you have amazed us with your ability to design, create, balance and display wooden blocks in amazing shapes! It is a skill that comes so naturally to you and it is a skill that you freely share with others. We love your attention to detail and how you have developed friendships by sharing your skills.

BELC HeartWe’ve noticed that you enjoy block building but you also enjoy being with friends. You have developed meaningful friendships with several children at preschool and you enjoy working in a group. You also enjoy playing on the iPads, building with Lego and mobilo and you love going to Rugby Tots.

BELC HeartCJ, you are very interested in construction, whether it is with Lego, blocks, mobilo or duplo. You are interested in vehicles and often your creations take the shape of a vehicle or machine. You enjoy imaginary play as well and can often be found pretending to be a Ninja Turtle or a Transformer with your friends.

BELC HeartThe character virtues we have seen you develop are friendliness towards others and learning how to communicate your ideas with your friends, patience with turn-taking, purposefulness with your creations, and generosity with sharing your ideas and resources with others.

BELC HeartCJ, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school:  We pray that your move to Hamilton will be full of excitement and exploration. We pray that your interest in construction and architecture will continue to develop and that you will have opportunities to enhance your building techniques. We pray that you will make lasting friendships that will be meaningful and inspirational to you. We will miss you CJ!

May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.

CJ, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!

We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
