OLIVE TREE CARE AND EDUCATION
Welcome Letter from Head Teacher Philip Brickell
At Olive Tree Education and Care we believe that relationship is the heart of learning. It’s important to us to build warm and caring relationships with the children and families/whānau who join our centre. We know that when children feel loved, learning naturally follows.
“We run a fun and stimulating programme with lots of hands-on adventures for active kids.”
This is a centre where boys can be boys and girls can do anything! I take time to get involved with wrestling, building, bike-riding and lots of interactive play. Every Wednesday all of our 3-5 year olds have an adventure together, enjoying things like bike days, games on the sports field, beach visits and community picnics.
Our babies and toddlers area is very spacious and nurturing. Our teachers have years of experience behind them and many have specifically chosen to work with our under 3’s because they especially love this age group.
We appreciate that there’s a lot to think about when it comes to finding the best centre for your child. There are, of course, practical considerations, but there are also deeper questions to consider, such as: ‘What is our teaching philosophy and learning programme? What difference does being a Christian centre make to the way we do things? Are our teachers qualified and caring’?
You’ll find answers to these questions, and more, on the following pages. If you like what you see, we would love you to bring your child with you to visit our centre.
It would be our privilege to journey with you and your child through these formative, exciting and precious early years of life. I look forward to meeting you soon.
